The royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took place on Saturday, May 19, and it was beautiful! The love these two have for each other was very evident and you could really see the love and excitement on their faces. The Royal Wedding coverage began at 4am Eastern time and was said to have around 2 billion viewers across the world. Here is a recap of some of the most beautiful moments of their wedding day.
The Venue: The ceremony took place in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in the United Kingdom. The beautiful stain glass windows were a great backdrop for the ceremony.
The "People Carriers"
I loved the British commentators who kept calling the cars "people carriers." Meghan Markle arrived to her wedding ceremony in a 1950 Rolls Royce Phantom IV.
To their reception, Price Harry and Meghan Markle drove in a vintage Jaguar E-type.
The Groom:
Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex wore his Blues and Royals Uniform to his ceremony. He was accompanied by his brother and best man, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.
The Bride:
Meghan Markle was beaming as she walked down the aisle to her husband to be. Unfortunately, her father was unable to make the wedding due to health conditions, so her new father-in-law, Charles, Prince of Wales, stepped in to lead her down the aisle.
Meghan's Ceremony Look:
Meghan's stunning and timeless ceremony gown was designed by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy.
Her veil was made up of beautiful lace detail and was over 16 feet long. It was also designed by Givenchy.
Her veil was carried down the aisle by some adorable Flower Girls and Page Boys.
The tiara Meghan Markle wore was Queen Mary's diamond bandeau tiara, which was loaned to her from Queen Elizabeth.
The Reception Look:
Meghan made a quick outfit change before the reception and changed into Stella McCartney halter top gown. She kept the classic look and simple hairdo. Prince Harry changed from his Blues and Royals Uniform into a classic tuxedo.
The couple could not have asked for a more beautiful day for their wedding. Everything about it was absolutely stunning and looked like a dream come true.
Congratulations to the new Duke and Dutches of Sussex!

Your wedding day is probably a day you have dreamt about for a
long time. You might have even started planning for it when you were just a
little girl. When the day finally comes, and you are ready to say, “I do” to the love of your life, of course you
want to be sure that everything goes as perfectly as possible. Unfortunately, life
happens, and things don’t always go exactly as planned. Luckily, many brides have
lived through these unfavorable situations before you, and there are things you
can do to prepare for these potential wedding disasters.
Tip #1:
Research Your Vendors
Your vendors play a very important role in your wedding day, so
you want to make sure you pick the right ones! Your florist should be reliable,
your cake baker should have an impressive portfolio, your DJ should keep everyone
dancing, and your caterer should satisfy the crowd. There are plenty of reviews
online about different vendors, and it is vital that you do your research before
making these important decisions. It would be a shame to choose a vendor based
on a lower price just to find out that they don’t follow through with quality work
on your wedding day. A good place to look at reviews for different vendors is
on The Knot. Find your perfect vendor here.
Tip #2: Make
Sure Your Dress Fits
As a bride, you want to look beautiful on your wedding day. Many
brides try crash dieting and hitting the gym while “sweating for the wedding.” These
attempts to look your best along with stress can cause drastic changes in your
body. My advice is to get your final dress alterations done as close to your
wedding day as possible. If your dress is too big it might be falling off all
day making you very uncomfortable. If it is too small, you can risk your zipper
busting open. Make sure you are working with your seamstress to have your dress
look like it was made just for you. If all else fails, have a sewing kit on
hand on your wedding day to fix any last-minute dress issues.
Tip #3: Plan
for Rain
If there is rain on your
wedding day, I doubt you will be saying “isn’t it ironic” – especially if you
planned for an outdoor ceremony. That is why it is so important to have a
backup plan. Work with your venue to find an alternate ceremony space in the
event of rain or snow. You never know what Michigan weather is going to bring, and
the stress of scrambling at the last minute to find a new ceremony space will
take away from your special day. Before deciding on an outdoor ceremony,
consider the possibility of poor weather, and make sure you are okay with the chance
of having to go with plan B.
Tip #4: Go
Easy on the Open Bar
Your wedding day should be a celebration of your love and
commitment with your new spouse. It should also be a day that you remember for the rest of your life. If
you are having alcohol at your wedding, try to make sure you don’t drink too
much that you forget everything by the next morning. Be sure to eat enough and
stay hydrated. You could also try setting a drink limit before the wedding and only
have the number of drinks that you agreed upon prior. Talk to the bartender at
your venue and let him or her know your limit. You’ll be thankful for this the
next morning when you wake up with a bunch of wonderful memories instead of a
giant hangover.
Tip #5:
Invest in a Videographer
This is a tip I feel strongly about. All of my friends and family
members who have hired videographers for their weddings have said it was the
best decision they could have made. Most videographers will have examples of
weddings they have done in the past on their websites or social media pages, so
you can have a look at their work before hiring that company. Spending this money on a
quality videographer will not be something you regret. You will have these
memories documented, and it will be something you can look back on for all of your
years to come.
Remember that your wedding day is uniquely yours. All of the
beautiful and perfect moments will be something to look back on for many years
to come, and any unexpected events that may occur during your day make it
unique to you! Your wedding day goes by so fast so, it is best to relax and
enjoy your day, and don’t stress the small stuff. You get to marry your best
friend, so if something doesn’t go as planned, just laugh it off and cherish
it. Years from now, you and your spouse will be able to look back on your
wedding day and remember it for what it really was, an amazing event to celebrate the
love you have for one another!

When my time comes to pick out my wedding dress I know that I will have a very difficult time deciding on what to wear; there are just so many options! Do I want it to be classic or trendy? Should I choose an ivory, blush or pure white color? What silhouette looks best on me? With so many questions to answer I wouldn't know where to begin. Luckily, every year we have New York Bridal Fashion Week to look forward to for some much-needed inspiration about what to wear on the big day.
There were some new trends to see this year including royally inspired gowns, heavy embellishments, and plunging necklines. Check out some of this season’s trends in action in the video from Brides.com below.
I am personally not a big fan of the jumpsuit trend, but I still think that everything from this year's Fashion Week looked absolutely stunning. Below are some of my favorite looks straight off the runway.
Favorite Classic Look: Oleg Cassini I think my dress style is pretty classic. I want something that will not go out of style the year after I get married. I like these simple looks that bring out the beauty in the bride. Oleg Cassini did a great job of designing dresses that will make a bride feel beautiful without taking the focus away from her face.
Favorite Ball Gown: Reem Acra The ball gown silhouette is one of the most popular silhouettes that brides desire. This year's fashion week saw a lot of ball gowns walk down the runway. Reem Acra designed some gorgeous gowns that make a statement with their size.
This designer was all about the sparkle on the runway this year. The sparkle elements in her designs really gave the dresses something extra in addition to their lacy, delicate styles.
Although this jumpsuit trend is not something I can see myself wearing, I still think it looks beautiful. For brides who want something different from a traditional wedding gown, I suggest checking out the designer Justin Alexander. He makes bridal jumpsuits look elegant and high fashion without taking away the bridal element.
Theia took the royal trend and ran with it this year. The result was some gorgeous and unique gowns that any regal bride would love to wear. Every dress in her runway show was paired with a royal crown to help complete the look. I think we can expect to see more headpieces like this at upcoming weddings.
Favorite Embellishments: Mira Zwillinger Stunning embellishments on wedding dresses was something we saw a lot of this year. I like gowns with fun embellishments that are not too crazy. Mira Zwillinger created some beautiful dresses with plenty of fun embellishments and intricate details.
Favorite Bohemian Style: Rita Vinieris Rita Vinieris wanted to make sure that brides feel empowered in her dresses. The looks she designed really capture that feeling of empowerment. Her dresses are laid back, bohemian, and absolutely beautiful. I love how they make the models look powerful and delicate at the same time.
This Spring's Fashion Week showed us some amazing bridal looks! Whatever your style is, the dress you choose should make you feel beautiful and confident on your big day. Although some people like myself might have a difficult time deciding on what the perfect dress will be, the most important part of the day is marrying your best friend, so have fun with it, and choose a dress that makes you love the way you feel!
I am excited to see what the fall fashion week has in store for us next! What was your favorite look from this season's event?
